Young is an impact crater in the southern near side of the moon , to the east of the crater Fabricius and Rheita from the history of the moon valley Vallis Rheita located following in a southeasterly direction. The crater is badly eroded. The south-western part crosses the Vallis Rheita.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the English physicist Thomas Young .
