Okay Yokuşlu (born March 9, 1994 in Konak ) is a Turkish football player who has been under contract with Celta Vigo since summer 2018 . His cousin Erdi Yokuşlu is also active as a professional football player.

Career

The 1.88 meter tall midfielder has been in the youth of Karşıyaka SK since 2002 ; after four years he moved to Altay Izmir . At the end of 2009, Yokuşlu played for the first time for the club's professional team in Bank Asya 1. Lig . After four goals in 33 games, he moved on June 27, 2011 for a transfer fee of 2.3 million TRY to the Süper Lig club Kayserispor, where he made his first division debut on September 16, 2011 against Medical Park Antalyaspor . With this club he reached the second division championship and thus promotion to the Süper Lig at the end of the season.

In summer 2015, he and his teammate Alper Uludağ moved to the first division Trabzonspor . Yokuşlu played three years for Trabzonspor and came to 86 league appearances and scored six goals. In June 2018, the midfielder moved to Spain for Celta Vigo for a transfer fee of six million euros .

National team

Since 2009 Yokuşlu has been used in various youth national teams in Turkey; He played six U-15 games (three hits), six U-16 games (no hit), 25 U-17 games (four hits) and so far nine games in the U-19 national team (two hits) . He was also active for the Turkish U-20 and the U-20 national team .

As part of the U-20 World Cup in 2013 , he was appointed to the tournament squad of the Turkish U-20 national team.

In October 2015, Yokuşlu was nominated for the first time in his career in the squad of the Turkish national team by national coach Fatih Terim as part of two qualifying matches for the 2016 European Championship against the Czech and Icelandic national teams . In both games he was on the bench, but was not used.

A month later, Yokuşlu was again nominated for the Turkish national team in two test matches . In the second encounter of these two test matches, against the Greek national team , he finally made his international debut. He came on in the 74th minute for Olcay Şahan .
