Maximiliano Gómez , full name Maximiliano Gómez González , (born August 14, 1996 in Paysandú ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.86-meter-tall offensive player Gómez is the brother of the football player Richard Gómez (2015 at Club Atlético Torque ). He played in youth football at least 2013 for Litoral in his native Paysandú. In that year he completed a one-week trial training session at Defensor Sporting , impressed and switched to the Montevideans, where he lived far away from his family in the dormitory of the club's youth players. In 2013 he was there in the team of the Quinta División and in 2014 and 2015 in that of the Cuarta División. In 2014 he was also part of the team in the Tercera División. In 2015 he was promoted to the professional team of the first division. In the professional field, he made his debut on September 15, 2015 as part of the Copa Sudamericana 2015 as a substitute in the 89th minute of play for Héctor Acuña in the 1-0 away win against the Peruvian club Universitario de Deportes . He made his debut in the Primera División in the Apertura on October 4, 2015 in the 0: 4 away defeat against Nacional Montevideo , when he was also substituted on by coach Juan Tejera in the 46th minute for Facundo Castro . In the 2015/16 season he played 21 first division matches (14 goals) and four games (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana . During the 2016 season he played 14 times in the league (four goals). In the 2017 season he made twelve first division appearances (ten goals) and one (one goal) in the 2017 Copa Sudamericana . At the beginning of July 2017 he moved to the Spanish first division club Celta de Vigo .
