Facundo Castro , full name Facundo Ismael Castro Souto , (born January 22, 1995 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

The 1.76 meter tall midfielder has been a member of the Uruguayan first division team Defensor since at least the 2013/14 season . During that season he made four appearances (one goal) in the Primera División there until the end of the Clausura 2014 . He also played a game in the 2014 Copa Libertadores . In the 2014/15 season he was used in the Primera División seven times (no goal). During the 2015/16 season, 24 additional premier league appearances followed (one goal). He also played five games (one goal) in the 2015 Copa Sudamericana .

National team

Castro made his debut on April 15, 2014 in a 3-0 win against the Chilean selection under coach Fabián Coito in Uruguay's U-20s . He was used in the game against Chile on April 17, 2014, as well as in the clash with Paraguay on May 20 and 22, 2014. His next international match followed on September 24, 2014 in a 1-0 win over Peru.

He was part of the Uruguayan squad at the 2015 U-20 South American Championship in Uruguay and at the 2015 U-20 World Cup in New Zealand . So far (as of July 8, 2015) he has completed 34 international matches in this age group. He scored two hits.

On May 19, 2015 he was initially nominated by coach Fabián Coito for the provisional squad of the U-22s at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto . After all, he was on the final squad and won the tournament with the Celeste.
