Daniel Wass (born May 31, 1989 in Gladsaxe ) is a Danish football player . He is under contract with the Spanish first division club Valencia CF.

Beginnings in Denmark and Norway

Wass started his football career with the youth teams of Brøndby IF . On December 2, 2007 he made his professional debut with his substitution in the 16th minute for Jacob Berthelsen at 1-1 on the 18th matchday of the 2007/08 first division season in the derby at FC Copenhagen . As a result, he came to eleven other missions in the game operation. Brøndby IF won the Danish Cup after beating Esbjerg fB 3-2 in the final . Wass was not used in the final. For the 2008/09 season he rose to the club's professional team. On July 31, 2008, he scored his first goal in a competitive match in a 2-0 win in the second leg in the first qualifying round for the UEFA Cup against B36 Tórshavn . He came in the 2008/09 season to 28 appearances and two assists in the league game and to a total of five appearances in a goal scored in the UEFA Cup and the qualifying round. On July 26, 2009, he scored his first goal in the league in the 2-1 defeat on the second match day of the 2009/10 season in the away game against Esbjerg fB.

On August 19, 2009 Wass signed a loan deal with the Norwegian first division club Fredrikstad FK . Two days later he made his debut for Fredrikstad FK in the 1: 4 defeat on matchday 22 of the 2009 Tippeligaen season against Rosenborg BK . From the 24th matchday onwards, he was no longer used for a while. On November 1, 2009 he scored his first goal on matchday 30 in the away game against Lyn Oslo with the goal to 4-0 (final score 5-0). His loan contract ended at the end of 2009.

On March 28, 2010 Wass gave his comeback at Brøndby IF in a 3-1 win on matchday 23 in the away game at SønderjyskE and subsequently came to eleven other missions. In the 2010/11 season he was used in the league in 32 games, in 26 games over the entire season. He scored six goals in the Super League.

FC Évian Thonon Gaillard (2011 to 2015)

At the end of May 2011 Wass signed a five-year contract with Benfica Lisbon . Without league use, he was initially awarded for a year to the then French first division club FC Évian Thonon Gaillard , who had previously been promoted to Ligue 1 , the first French league. After nine game days without use, he made his debut on October 15, 2011 in the 1: 2 defeat on the tenth match day in the game against AS Saint-Étienne ; he prepared the goal through Yannick Sagbo . On November 19, 2011, he scored the winning goal in a 2-1 win on matchday 14 against FC Lorient . Wass was used in 29 games in which he scored four goals. For the 2012/13 season Wass signed a four-year contract with FC Évian Thonon Gaillard. In the 2012/13 season he was used in 34 league games and five in cup competition ; in the cup, FC Évian Thonon Gaillard reached the final, which was lost 3-2 to Girondins Bordeaux . Wass was used for the entire 90 minutes in the final. In the 2013/14 season Wass played in all 38 league games, scored nine goals and made four or one use in both the cup competition and the league cup . In the next season , Wass played 32 games and scored eight goals. In the Coupe de France and in the league cup competition he came to two or one use. FC Évian Thonon Gaillard rose from Ligue 1 at the end of the season.

Celta Vigo (2015 to 2018)

In the summer of 2015, Wass moved to the Spanish Primera División for Celta Vigo and played for the first time on the first match day, 23 August 2015, in the away game at UD Levante ; Celta won 2-1. On September 13, 2015, he scored his first goal for Celta Vigo on the third match day at 3: 3 in the game against newly promoted UD Las Palmas with the goal to 2: 0 in the 18th minute. In the Copa del Rey , he reached the semifinals with the team and qualified sixth in the league for the Europa League 2016/17 , in which they were eliminated in the semifinals. The following season he reached the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey again with the team .

U national teams

Wass has played for Danish national teams since 2005; He played three times for the U-16s in 2005, and for the U-17s from 2005 to 2006 a total of 14 times. In 2006 and 2007 he played four games for the Danish U-18 selection and was featured eight times for the U-19 selection by 2008. From August 2008 he played for the Danish U-21 team ; in November 2008 also for the U-19s. A national team

Since February 9, 2011 Wass has been playing for the Danish national team ; in the 1: 2 defeat in the test match at the Danish national stadium in Copenhagen against England he was substituted on for Simon Poulsen at the beginning of the second half .
