Cristiano Piccini (born September 26, 1992 in Florence ) is an Italian football player who has been under contract with the Spanish LaLiga club Valencia CF since July 2018 .

Career

society

At the age of 10, Cristiano Piccini joined the youth team at Fiorentina in 2002 . On December 5, 2010, he made his Serie A debut when he came on for Manuel Pasqual in the 1-0 home win over Cagliari Calcio . After he did not come to any further use for the professionals of Fiorentina, he was awarded to third division club Carrarese Calcio on August 30, 2011 to collect match practice . He scored his first goal in professional football on April 4, 2012 in a 3-1 home defeat against Virtus Lanciano . In the following season 2013/14 he was loaned to the Serie B club Spezia Calcio , where he was an undisputed regular player in full defense . It was also awarded again in the following season. This time the first division club AS Livorno secured the services of Piccini. In the 2013/14 season he played 20 league appearances for the Amaranto , which had to accept relegation to Serie B as the bottom of the table.

On August 27, 2014 Piccini moved to the Spanish second division Betis Sevilla in a loan deal . He made his debut on September 7th in the 1: 4 away defeat against SD Ponferradina , in which he first attracted attention with an assist. This season he completed eleven other missions. He also won the 2014/15 season title with Betis , which meant promotion to the Primera División . On July 9, 2015, he signed a permanent contract with Den Verdiblancos , which tied to the club in four years. He made his debut in the Primera División on August 23 against Villarreal . On January 16, 2016, he tore a cruciate ligament in the 83rd minute when he met FC Villarreal again, which forced him to sit out the rest of the season.

On May 15, 2017, he moved to the Portuguese Segunda Liga club Sporting Lisbon , where he signed a five-year contract. The capital club paid a transfer fee of 2.8 million euros for Piccini's services. He made his debut on August 6 in a 2-0 away win over Desportivo Aves . With Sporting he won the Portuguese League Cup .

After a season he left Sporting again and returned to Spain for Valencia CF. He made his debut for the Murciélagos on August 20, 2018 in a 1-1 draw against Atlético Madrid . On December 23, he met for the first time for the Murciélagos in a 2-1 home win against SD Huesca . He missed the following 2019/20 season almost entirely due to a serious knee injury.

National team

Piccini represented Italy in U-19 , U-20 and U-21 selections. He received his first call-up for the A selection in October 2018. He made his debut on October 10 in a 1-1 draw with Ukraine .
