For the 2005/06 season Pasqual moved to AC Florence in Serie A , where he immediately earned a regular place. For Fiorentina , Pasqual played over 300 Serie A games in eleven seasons from 2005 to 2016 and was temporarily captain of the team. His contract, which expired in 2016, was not renewed and he joined FC Empoli .

In the national team

Pasuqal was nominated for the first time for the Italian national team by Marcello Lippi in February 2006 and made his international debut on March 1 in a friendly against Germany . He did not make it into the squad for the 2006 World Cup , but was nominated again by Lippi's successor Roberto Donadoni in November 2006 and played his second international match against Turkey .

After Donadoni Pasqual, however, as well as Lippi during his second term as national coach of Italy, he was nominated again for the Squadra Azzurra by Cesare Prandelli , three years after he took office . From September 2013 Pasqual was a regular member of the Italian squad, but he also did not take part in the 2014 World Cup.
