Héctor Acuña , full name Héctor Fabián Acuña Maciel , (born October 27, 1981 in Villa del Cerro , Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .
Career
The offensive player "Romario" Acuña, who was born in the Barrio Villa del Cerro and, according to his club, is 1.64 meters tall, grew up in Cerro Norte until he was 14 and played in baby fútbol for seven years at Cerromar.
At the beginning of his professional career from 2000 up to and including the Clausura 2002 he was under contract with the Rampla Juniors . In the second division season of 2002 he was used there in 27 games and scored ten goals. He then moved within the Segunda División to Club Atlético Rentistas . In the 2003 season he played 24 games, scored four goals and rose with the team to the Primera División . The following first division season in 2004 he also played in the ranks of the Montevideans. In this 30 first division appearances and six goals are recorded for him. In 2005 he worked for Santiago Morning in Chile . There he contributed to promotion in Primera B with six goals scored. His teammates included Esteban Paredes, the top scorer of that season. Then he returned to Rentistas. In 2005/06 he played in 15 league games (seven goals). In the first division season 2006/07 his statistics show 30 completed first division matches and six hits. In 2007/08 he played for Liverpool Montevideo and made 29 appearances (nine goals) in the Primera División.
In the Apertura 2008, Clausura 2009 and Apertura 2009 he played a total of 36 games for the Mexican club Dorados de Sinaloa . Other sources indicate that he played 40 games in the 2008/09 and 2009/10 seasons. He hit the opposing goal seven times. In the Clausura 2010 he was back in the ranks of Liverpool Montevideo. 14 games and two goals are listed there for him in the statistics. After 14 missions, other sources cite only 13, and two hits in the Apertura 2010 at Miramar Misiones , he moved on to its first division competitor Racing , where he was active in the Clausura 2011. He was used ten times in the league and scored one goal. At the end of July 2011, he then joined the Honduran club CD Marathón , for which he scored two league goals in ten appearances, but returned to Uruguay in 2012. There the Club Sportivo Cerrito was his next employer. The record there shows seven games and four hits for him. In 2012 he was transferred to El Tanque Sisley and was again extremely accurate with eleven goals in 15 league appearances. In 2013 he moved to Argentina to Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata , but only played four games there and remained without a personal goal. For the 2013/14 season he moved to Club Atlético Cerro . In that season he made 25 appearances in the Primera División there until the end of the Clausura 2014 and scored 20 goals. With this hit yield he was not only the most successful shooter on his team and scored almost half of the total of 44 goals his team scored. He also became the season's top scorer .
In May 2014, the Colombian association Deportes Tolima announced the signing of Acuña. That year he won the Copa Colombia with the Colombians . There he ran in 33 games (five goals) of the Primera A and 16 games (five goals) of the Copa Colombia. At Apertura 2015 he joined the Uruguayan first division club Defensor Sporting . So far (as of August 9, 2017) he has played 37 top division games across seasons with the Montevideans and scored six goals (2015/16: 22/5, 2016: 8/1; 2017: 7/0). There are also seven games (two goals) in the Copa Sudamericana 2015 and one (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana 2017 .
