Mathias Jensen (born January 1, 1996 ) is a Danish football player . He is under contract with Celta Vigo and is part of the Danish junior national team.
Career
society
As a child, Jensen played for clubs in Hvidebæk and Kalundborg and for Farum BK. From 2007 he took part in training at FC Nordsjælland . As a U15 player, he moved permanently to the club's youth academy in 2011.
In 2015 he moved up to the first team and made his men's debut on September 20, 2015 in a 1-0 away win on matchday nine of the 2015/16 Superliga season against FC Midtjylland . Jensen came to five appearances this season and finished ninth with FC Nordsjælland. On August 7, 2016, he scored his first goal in the men's area in a 2-1 home defeat on the fourth match day of the 2016/17 season against Aalborg BK with the goal for the interim 1-0 lead. FC Nordsjælland qualified for the championship round, but missed qualifying for the international competition as fifth. In the following season , FC Nordsjælland qualified for the preliminary qualification for the UEFA Europa League .
In summer 2018 he moved to Spain to Celta Vigo and signed a five-year contract.
National teams
Jensen came to one use for the Danish U-18 national team , eight appearances for the U-19 and six for the U-20 selection. Coach Niels Frederiksen appointed him to the U-21 squad for the 2017 European Championships in Poland and replaced him for the first time in the Danish U-21 national team on June 10, 2017 in a 2-0 friendly win against Sweden in Helsingborg . At the finals of the European Championship, from which the Danish team were eliminated after the group stage, he came to two appearances. On May 14, 2018 Jensen was appointed by coach Åge Hareide to the provisional squad of the Danish senior team for the 2018 World Cup in Russia .
