Andrew Hjulsager (born January 15, 1995 on Amager ) is a Danish football player . He is under contract in Belgium with KV Ostend .
Career
society
The son of a Danish father and a Portuguese mother grew up on the island of Amager and joined the local club Fremad Amager at the age of five . At the age of nine he switched to the Brøndby IF academy . On the first match day of the 2013/14 season he made his debut in the men's area, in which he scored the 1-0 lead in the 1-1 draw against FC Vestsjælland in the 37th minute. He came to a use in the Danish Cup and 22 in the league, where he scored four goals; Brøndby IF took fourth place. In the 2014/15 season , Hjulsager played one game in the Danish Cup and 20 games in the league (four goals), in which Brøndby IF finished third. A season later , Hjulsager came to six appearances in the preliminary elimination for the UEFA Europa League and two appearances in the Danish Cup along with 19 in the Superliga (one goal each). In the first half of the 2016/17 season he played eight games in qualifying for the Europa League (one goal) and 19 times in the league (seven goals).
At the end of January 2017, Hjulsager moved to Spain to Celta Vigo and signed a contract that runs until 2020. In total, he played in seven games in the second half of the season. In the first half of the following season , the Dane played two games each in the Copa del Rey and in the league. On February 1, 2018, Hjulsager went on loan to the second division FC Granada , and returned to Celta Vigo on July 1, 2018, but could not fight for a regular place.
In July 2019, Hjulsager moved to KV Ostend in Belgium and signed a two-year contract with an option for another year.
National team
Hjulsager played nine games for the Danish U-16 national team , 14 games for the U-17 , eleven for the U-19 national team and five for the U-20 . On November 14, 2014, he played his first game for the Danish U-21 national team in a 2-2 test match against the Czech Republic in Prague . At the U-21 European Football Championship 2017 in Poland , he was part of the Danish squad and was used in all three games; the Danish U-21s were eliminated after the group stage.
