Pione Sisto Ifolo Emirmija (born February 4, 1995 in Kampala , Uganda ) is a South Sudanese - Danish football player . He has been under contract with Celta Vigo in the Spanish Primera División since 2016 .
Career
Club career
Sisto came to Denmark when he was two months old. He has had Danish citizenship since December 2014 . He started playing football in the youth of Tjørring IF .
He later moved to the youth team at FC Midtjylland . In the course of the 2012/13 season he was taken over by the U-19s in the professional team in the Super League . There he made his debut in the league in the 1: 3 home defeat to Silkeborg IF , where he was substituted on in the 77th minute. In the summer of 2014, Sisto signed a contract extension until the summer of 2018. In December 2014, he was voted “Player of the Year 2014” by the Danish Football Association . At the end of the 2014/15 season he won the Danish championship with FC Midtjylland.
At the beginning of August 2016, he moved to the Spanish first division club Celta Vigo .
National team
On June 17, 2015, he made his debut for the Danish U-21 national team in a 2-1 victory in the opening game of the U-21 European Football Championship 2015 in the Eden Aréna in Prague against the European hosts, the Czech Republic . He came on for Viktor Fischer in the 57th minute and scored the 2-1 winner in the 84th minute. He was eliminated from the tournament with the team in the semifinals, but qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics .
On October 11, 2015, Sisto played for the Danish senior team for the first time when he was substituted on for Martin Braithwaite in the 69th minute of the 2-1 defeat in the friendly at Parken in Copenhagen against France .
