The 19th Tour d'Algérie (German: Algeria Tour ) took place from March 10th to 14th, 2012. Two days later, the Circuit d'Alger was the end of the tour, but it was no longer part of the overall ranking. The bike race was held in five stages over a distance of 655 kilometers. It was part of the UCI Africa Tour 2012 and was classified in category 2.2 . The first eight drivers in the overall ranking and the first three of each stage as well as those wearing the yellow jersey of the overall leader received points for the Africa ranking list after each stage.
The overall winner of the stage race was Eritrean Natnael Berhane (national team Eritrea), who also took the lead in the individual ranking of the UCI Africa Tour. He won with a margin of 24 seconds on the runner-up Adil Jelloul from Morocco and the Spaniard Joaquín Sobrino from the SP Tableware team , who won the points classification.

At the start were national teams from Morocco , Turkey , Tunisia , Libya and Eritrea as well as the Algerian Continental Teams Groupement Sportif Pétrolier Algérie , Geofco-Ville d'Alger , Olympique Team Algérie and Vélo Club Sovac Algérie . From Europe, the Latvian team Rietumu-Delfin , the Danish team Concordia Forsikring-Himmerland and SP Tableware from Greece took part in the race. The Profiline team came from Germany and included seven Germans in the starting field.
