Natnael Teweldemedhin Berhane (born January 5, 1991 in Asmara ) is an Eritrean cyclist . By 2017 he had won the title of African champion eight times.
Athletic career
In 2010 Natnael Berhane won the Tour of Eritrea and finished ninth in the road race at the African Championships. At the Tour of Rwanda , he was second overall. In 2011 he was two-time African champion , in road races and in team time trials (with Ferekalsi Debessay , Daniel Teklehaimanot and Jani Tewelde ). In the same year he was third in the overall ranking of the Tour of Algeria and second in the Tour of Bern . In 2012 he won the title of African road racing champion for a second time and won the Tour of Algeria.
In 2013 and 2015 , Berhane was African champion in team time trial as well as national champion in individual time trial in 2014 and in 2015 in road racing. In 2014 he won the overall ranking of the Tour of Turkey and in 2015 that of Tropicale Amissa Bongo Ondimba in Gabon . At the Africa Games in 2019 he won the silver medal in the team time trial with Natnael Mebrahtom , Sirak Tesfom and Daniel Teklehaimanot .
Up to and including 2019, Natnael started one of the big tours six times . His best placement to date was 59th place at the Giro d'Italia 2017 .
