Bern tour

The Berner Rundfahrt or Tour de Berne is a Swiss cycle race for men that has been held in the canton of Bern since 1921 . Originally the race was called "Northwest Switzerland Tour"; In 1992 the race was renamed "Berner Rundfahrt" and has been taking place in Lyss since 2001.

The “Northwest Switzerland Tour” was designed for professionals and amateurs from the start . Since 1968 additional categories for beginners and other categories have been made, including since 1984 the Berner Rundfahrt for women for the first time . From 2003, in addition to the license races, the Seeland Classic Jedermannrennen was held.

In 2005 the elite race for men was part of the UCI Europe Tour in the UCI category 1.1. After a break of two years, the Tour of Bern was again held internationally from 2013 to 2017 in the UCI category 1.2. The race was canceled for 2018. In 2019, it was held on the Swiss national racing calendar.
