Michael Andersson (born March 4, 1967 in Höganäs , Sweden ) is a former Swedish cyclist . He participated in the 1992 , 1996 and 2000 Olympics. He was able to win the Tour of Sweden three times . In 1999 he lost to Jan Ullrich with just 14 seconds at the World Time Trial Championship in Treviso. With his three victories in the Tour of Sweden in 1991, 1992 and 2000, Andersson had the most victories of the former cycling race. At the time trial world championships in 1990, 1996 and 1997 he was the captain of the Swedish team.
