The 25th Tour du Faso took place from October 21 to 30, 2011 in Burkina Faso . The most important cycle race in Africa was held in ten stages over a distance of 1,280 kilometers. It was part of the UCI Africa Tour 2012 and was classified in category 2.2 .

Overall winner of the stage race was the Burkinabe Hamidou Zidweiba , who was able to relegate the Cameroonian Martinien Tega to second place with a 25-second lead. The podium was completed by Zidweiba's compatriot Rasmane Ouédraogo .

Participating teams

A total of 16 teams from Africa and Europe were at the start. For the first time since 1996 a German delegation took part in the race with the "RV Trier - Germany". The team that had been set up by the "Department of Tomorrow" was accompanied by a film team. The 90-minute film Tour du Faso , which was made about the Tour du Faso 2011, was released in German cinemas in 2014.
