The Van Buren County Courthouse in Keosauqua , the Justice and Administration Building ( Courthouse ) of Van Buren County in the southeast of the US -amerikanischen state of Iowa .
The two-story building is the oldest courthouse in Iowa and has been operating continuously since it was completed in 1843. It was built from bricks made here in the style of the Greek Revival to a design by architects James Hall and John Fairman . The foundation stone was laid in 1840. Originally the building still had a clock tower, which has since been removed.
The building can be viewed during opening hours when there is no trial.
In 1977 the building was inscribed on the National Register of Historic Places with reference number 77000562 .
