Van der Duyn
The Van der Duyn family was a Dutch family of noble descent.
The lineage came from the lineage of the van Teylingen via the Brederodes' lord . Dirk I. van Teylingen-Brederode (around 1180–1236) is considered to be the progenitor .
The van der Duyn family named themselves after the "Huis ter Duyn" in Zevenhuizen . In 1667 the family was accepted into the knighthood of Holland. The family received a further ranking in 1815 when they received the title of count for their first-born . In 1822 all family members were raised to the status of baron . In 1874 a branch of the family was given the title of count for all its members. The sex died out in the male line in 1947.
The most important family member is the Dutch politician Frans Adam van der Duyn van Maasdam (1771–1848), who was a member of the so-called Driemanschap van 1813 .
