Vanessa began acting at the age of 13, when she attended theater and ballet classes . Her first performances were in children's and adult plays such as Waltz No. 6, Nelson Rodrigues' monologue created by the "Proscenium" theater company.

Vanessa played the role of "Juliana" in the 2006 remake of the telenovela "Sinha Moca" in 1986. In November 2006 she made her cinema debut with "Canta Maria" by Francisco Ramalho Jr. In January 2007 she took part in the miniseries "Amazonia" by Chico Mendes as "IIzamar Mendes" and also in "Duas Caras" by Aguinaldo Silva.
In 2011 she took part in the telenovela “Morde e Assopra” as “Celeste Sampaio” and in 2012 as “Malvina Tavares” in “Gabriela” (telenovela).
Vanessa was married to Daniel de Oliveira from 2004 to 2012, who is also an actor. With him she became the mother of Raul (January 21, 2008) and Moisés (May 29, 2010). She supports the NGO "Human Rights Movement".
