Vanessa Giangrasso (born June 11, 1990 in Karlsruhe ) is a German-born Italian soccer player who has been playing for Karlsruher SC since 2014 .

Career

Born in Karlsruhe , Giangrasso spent a large part of her youth in Italy, where she grew up in the Riozzo district , the municipality of Cerro al Lambro . In Riozzo, she started her active football career in 1999 with the local Associazione Calcio Riozzese, before returning to Germany in 2005. Giangrasso continued her career in the youth team of the Post Südstadt Karlsruhe from summer 2005 . After two years in the U-16 and 16 team at Post Südstadt, Giangrasso decided to switch to the first team of city rivals Karlsruher SC . At KSC, she gained her first experience in senior football and played for the club in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg. With good performances in the following five years for Karlsruhe, she convinced the scouts of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and signed on June 27, 2012 in Sinsheim . On the 1st matchday of the 2012/2013 season she made her debut in the 2nd Bundesliga South for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim , with a 6-0 win over 1. FFC Recklinghausen . Giangrasso played 10 games for Hoffenheim in their first professional season and played an important role in the team's promotion to the women's Bundesliga . There she made her Bundesliga debut on October 3, 2013 in a 2-2 draw against TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen . After repeatedly struggling with injuries during the season, she was only used in the second team in the Regionalliga Süd . In the summer of 2014, Giangrosso was bid farewell to TSG 1899 and she left the club with an initially unknown goal. After about two months without a club, she returned to the top division Karlsruher SC.

Giangrasso attended the Heinrich Lanz School in Mannheim and graduated from secondary school there in 2008 .
