Vanserums mossar

Vanserums mossar is a wetland on the Swedish Baltic island of Öland .

The area, which is made up of several moors, free flowing streams and springs, is located in the middle of the island in the area of ​​the Mittlandsskogen . It extends between Övetorp in the west to Vanserum in the east. The south-eastern part forms the Lindsmossen , in the north the Högsmossen also belongs to the wetland.

At the edges of the wetland were in the past pastures what the silting counteracted indeed, but does not completely staying. Especially in the northern part, however, there are still larger open water areas. Single tuber , white water lily and glossy stendel grow here . Högsmossen consists of small streams and several limestone moors . In terms of vegetation, besides mosses, such as the lime spring moss , especially flour primrose , dioecious sedge and broad-leaved cottongrass are to be mentioned. From the fauna, agile frogs and scabies pied butterflies are worth mentioning. The stiff sedge predominates in Lindsmossen .
