Vas privatum
As Vas privatum ( latin vas "vessel" and privatus "own", "personal", plural : Vasa privata ) is a blood vessel of an organ called serving the self-sufficiency of the organ, especially for the delimitation of a Vas public.
In some organs with a special, superordinate function within the bloodstream, there are also vessels that serve to maintain this function. Such is called Vas publicum ( Latin vas "vessel" and publicus "public"; plural: Vasa publica ).
Blood vessels can also take on the function of Vasa privata and Vasa publica at the same time, e.g. B. the renal arteries (Arteriae renales).
