VdZ - Forum for Energy Efficiency in Building Technology e. V. is a registered association based in Berlin . The abbreviation VdZ stands for the original name "Association of the German Central Heating Industry". The association is a central association made up of member associations from the heating and building technology industry. These come from the industrial, wholesale and installation sectors. Overall, the VdZ represents over 50,000 companies with almost 500,000 employees and an industry turnover of around 44 billion euros.

history

In 1963 the forerunner organization "Association of the Central Heating Industry" was founded in Cologne. The association has been sponsoring the biennial ISH trade fair in Frankfurt am Main since 1967 .

The heating industry, which was mainly characterized by central heating in the year the association was founded, has changed significantly since then. There are now various different heating systems in building technology, the manufacturers, dealers and installers of which the association also represents. Therefore, in 2010 the association was renamed the “Central Association of Building Technology”. After the office had been located in Bonn for several years , the move to Berlin was decided in 2010, which took place in 2011.

tasks

The association represents the interests of its members on a political level. The main goal is to show the importance of energy efficiency in building technology for energy policy and to encourage appropriate funding measures and regulations. Consumer information in the form of the Intelligent Heating campaign and the development of guidelines such as the heating check for the specialist trade are also part of the association's tasks. The association also develops information brochures and forms for the trade and consumers, e. B. on the topics of hydraulic balancing and heating optimization.

Projects

The association works with several project groups composed of employees from the member associations. Current projects include:

  • Intelligent heating : consumer information for efficient heating
  • Energy pass alliance: Implementation of a revision of the energy pass
  • Ecodesign and consumption labeling: Finding an industry solution for the energy consumption labeling of heating devices and hot water generators

The projects are presented every two years at the VdZ project forum.
