Architectural monument no.14516

The Veddel Canal Bridge is a listed road bridge that crosses the canal of the same name on the Kleiner Grasbrook in the Port of Hamburg . Since a railway bridge directly next to it leads the rails of the port railway over the Veddel Canal, one also speaks of the Veddel Canal bridges .

The steel bridge leads the Klütjenfelder Straße over the Veddel Canal and the Klütjenfelder Hafen. The Veddelkanalbrücke is with the number 14516 from the Hamburg Authority for Culture and Media recognized as a historic landmark.

Considerable damage to the support beams and abutments meant that the Hamburg Port Authority , which is responsible for the bridge, decided to rebuild the Veddel Canal Bridge . A corresponding tender was issued in February 2018. As planned, the replacement new building includes a cycle path. The Veddel Canal Bridge is used by 1,000 cyclists every day.
