Veit Sprenger

Veit Sprenger (* 1967 ) is a theater maker , author and musician .

He is a founding member of the theater group Showcase Beat Le Mot , with whom he has been producing international plays, performances, art events and music videos since 1998. He is considered one of the key figures of the so-called Giessen School , which propagates an expansion of the concept of theater through the introduction of a band structure into the theater business, through work in changing formations and person constellations, and through the inclusion of popular cultural means. He is the initiator of numerous theater and music projects in Germany and Europe, teaches in Berlin , Hamburg and Oslo , among others , and in 2005 published his book "Despots on the Stage - The Staging of Power and Their Crashes". In recent years he has u. a. with Showcase Beat Le Mot increasingly also writes dramatic texts, for example in the plays “Alarm Hamburg Shanghai”, “Machineries of Joy” and “Europiraten”, or staged foreign texts.
