Velveton block printed fabric by William Morris

Velveton or fake velvet is a strong, atlas-binding fabric made of cotton . By roughening it gets a velvety surface. The fabric is used for suede- like outerwear such as pants and jackets .

Cotton twine in the warp and cotton yarn in the weft are used . Due to the high number of weft threads (up to 60 threads per centimeter), the fabric has very good mechanical strength.
