Vera Spautz (born May 1, 1963 in Esch-sur-Alzette ) is a Luxembourg politician.

She is a member of the OGBL union and the socialist party (the LSAP ). Since July 13, 2004, she was a member of the Chambre des Députés for the constituency of the south. At the end of 2012 she had to give up her parliamentary mandate for health reasons.

At the beginning of 2012, she announced that on January 26, 2012, she would not endorse the law on " index manipulation" proposed by the government .

Vera Spautz began her career in local politics on January 14, 2000 as a member of the Esch municipal council. On September 11, 2000, she became a lay judge of the city. Vera Spautz was sworn in as mayor of the city of Esch at the end of December 2013, as her predecessor Lydia Mutsch had to give up the mayor's office as the new health minister of Luxembourg.
