The Verband Deutscher Altpfadfindergilden eV (VDAPG) is the organization of the old scout guilds in Germany . He is a member of the International Scout and Guide Fellowship (ISGF) in the Europe region, Central Europe sub-region. The VDAPG is open to all scout associations and associations.

history

From 1960, former scouts were contacted and called for the founding of an old scout movement. The VDAPG was founded on October 21, 1967 and in 1971 became the 28th member of IFOFSAG (International Fellowship of Former Scouts and Guides, changed to ISGF in 1996). Since there had been problems with the approval of the German youth associations, a registration of the German guilds in Austria ( PGÖ ) was also considered during the negotiations . In October 1992 the VDAPG was a founding member of the Central Europe sub-region.

organization

Definitions

The VDAPG is responsible for the administration, organization and growth of the old scout movement in Germany. He maintains contact with the ISGF as well as with international and national institutions. He provides the local guilds with connections to one another and across borders, and he also provides publications and help. The VDAPG is politically and denominationally neutral and has set itself the goal of keeping the spirit of the scout promise alive.

The board of directors is the management body of the VDAPG.

In the VDAPG, guild means the organizational form for the old scouts of a city or region.

In the interdenominational youth association BdP ( Association of Pathfinders and Pathfinders eV) the name guild has two meanings: It is the amalgamation of several clans in one tribe (in more scoutistic groups this corresponds to the troop). In the VDAPG, however, there are also guilds related to the BdP, which in this case are an association of old scouts.
