The Association for Development Policy Lower Saxony e. V. (VEN) is a state network of development policy initiatives and non-governmental organizations (NGO) in Lower Saxony. The association was founded in 1991 and has 144 members (as of August 2016). The members are non-governmental organizations, associations, parishes, development policy initiatives and private individuals.

The main focus of the work of the VEN lies in public relations, project work and educational work on issues of global social justice and ecology. The VEN also serves as a coordination and communication platform for its members and represents their interests in relation to politics and other actors. The VEN is committed to humane globalization , social justice, fairness in the world economy and the preservation of natural resources. The VEN supports and networks initiatives in Lower Saxony that are committed to these goals in the global south or in Germany.

One World Promoter Program

The one world promoter program supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the federal states is carried out in Lower Saxony by the VEN and its member organizations. The promoter program is intended to increase civic engagement and promote one-world approaches in Germany.
