Association of Catholic Student Associations

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Association of Catholic Student Associations (VKSt) was an association of Catholic , non-colored student associations . Based on the Cartel Association of Catholic German Student Associations (KV), it was also called a small KV .

history

The VKSt was created in July 1898 through the conclusion of a cartel relationship between Ripuaria Bonn and Gothia Würzburg , which was based on the principles of religio (Catholicism), scientia (science) and amicitia (friendship), as well as the rejection of the duel. Two other clubs later joined the association.

In 1902 and 1903 the idea of joining the KV came up, but the proposal was rejected.

The member associations of the VKSt decided to wear color and called themselves student association . In 1905 the member associations joined the Cartell Association of Catholic German Student Associations (CV) , which had existed since 1856 . Since the Cartell Association had only deviated from the singularity principle in 1899 - the principle that only one connection of the CV could exist at each university - similarly oriented connections had to be outside the CV up to this point in time.

The VKSt consisted of:

  • Ripuaria Bonn (1863), 1898 in the VKSt, 1905 in the CV
  • Gothia Würzburg (1895), 1898 in the VKSt, 1905 in the CV
  • Burgundia Munich (1899), 1899 in the VKSt, 1907 in the CV
  • Arminia Münster (1901), 1901 in the VKSt, 1905 in the CV (2002 merged with AV Cheruscia zu Münster)

Today the VKSt exists as an interest group within the CV.
