Association of archivists from Lower Saxony

The Association of Lower Saxony Archivists eV (VNA) has been the lobby group in which the full-time and voluntary local archivists are organized in Lower Saxony since 2015 . It is the successor organization to the working group of Lower Saxony municipal archivists (ANKA) founded in 1963 . The chairperson is Cornelia Regin , head of the Hannover City Archives .

Tasks, goals, achievements

  • Organization and implementation of the annual Lower Saxony Archive Days in various cities and regions of Lower Saxony. These conferences serve to provide information, training and the exchange of experiences among archivists. New perspectives are included that resulted from the challenges posed by changed social and political conditions.
  • Exchange of information through Archiv-Nachrichten Niedersachsen. Messages from archives in Lower Saxony. (see "Literature")
