The Association of Forwarding and Logistics North Rhine-Westphalia e. V. (VSL NRW e.V.), based in Düsseldorf, is a professional and employer association of freight forwarders in North Rhine-Westphalia. It is a member of the German Forwarding and Logistics Association and the European Liaison Committee for Forwarding and Storage Acquisition . North Rhine-Westphalian freight forwarding representatives also work on committees of the international association of freight forwarders FIATA and the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris.

The association was founded in 1946 and, through its office, represents the interests of the North Rhine-Westphalian freight forwarding industry vis-à-vis municipalities and authorities at state level. The representation of interests relates to relevant state laws and other state regulations in questions of road haulage, ports, environmental law, regional customs regulations, taxes, local fee regulations and police orders. In addition, the office is available to advise the authorities.
The association wants to exert influence on and via the municipal administration with regard to federal laws and ordinances currently being planned as well as the local interpretation of existing national legal regulations, development plans and traffic-regulating measures. VSL NRW eV is represented by honorary officers in committees of the chambers of industry and commerce.
The association supports the classic dual vocational training and works with the chambers of industry and commerce as well as the vocational schools in matters of vocational training and participates in examination matters. Furthermore, the VSL NRW eV wants to interest young people in the apprenticeship as a merchant for freight forwarding and logistics services and maintains contact with the career advice centers. Training companies and young people willing to train receive information and advice on training issues. Due to the considerable need for further training, VSL NRW eV founded the North Rhine-Westphalia Logistics Academy .
VSL NRW eV concludes wage, salary and general collective agreements with the responsible trade unions through an association of employers' associations. It ensures that its member companies are represented in labor and social processes. VSL NRW eV works together with professional associations, health insurance companies, insurance companies, commercial courts and other organizations. Member companies are informed about labor and social law issues and advised individually.

Membership in the association is voluntary and is open to entrepreneurs who are active in one of the modes of transport combined transport , rail freight forwarding , inland waterway freight forwarding , port management , vehicle forwarding , system transport , CEP services, air freight forwarding and / or sea and project forwarding and who are in North Rhine-Westphalia Have their registered office, branch or permanent establishment. Natural or legal persons who are not involved in one of the aforementioned modes of transport and who are not involved in commercial policy, but who support the association's goals, can acquire membership without voting rights (supporting members).
