The Association of University Lecturers at Universities of Applied Sciences in Bavaria e. V. - VHB (until the end of 2013 the association of university teachers at universities of applied sciences in Bavaria ) is based in Munich and has set itself the task of promoting universities of applied sciences and promoting the professional, economic and social interests of its members. The association is a workers' association within the meaning of Art. 9 Para. 3 GG, Art. 170 BV and Art. 101 BayBG or the Labor Court Act and is politically and denominationally neutral. He is a member of the hlb, the university teachers' association . The latter is the professional association of professors at German technical colleges / Universities of Applied Sciences. In addition, the association has taken out consulting contracts and group insurance policies that benefit its members.

membership

Any professor at a university of applied sciences or a university of applied sciences course in Bavaria can become a member. Membership arises through admission. The declaration of membership is made in writing. The board decides on the admission. In the event of rejection, a complaint is possible within one month. The board of directors must submit the letter of complaint to the next assembly of delegates for a decision.

Around 50 percent of the professors working at universities of applied sciences in Bavaria are members of the VHB.

Rights and duties of members

Each member is entitled to take part in the events intended for the members, to submit applications, to exercise the right to vote and to use the existing association facilities. The members are obliged to promote the tasks and the purpose of the association to the best of their ability and to pay regular contributions.

Termination of Membership

Membership ends through death, resignation or exclusion. The resignation can only take place at the end of the financial year with a notice period of three months. The declaration of resignation must be submitted in writing to the responsible university group spokesman or to the board of directors. With resignation, any claim to the association expires. Members who evade the fulfillment of their duties towards the association or otherwise damage the association can be excluded by a resolution of the board. This resolution must be made out in writing and notified to the member by registered letter. The member can appeal against the decision to the board of directors within a period of one month. A complaint against the decision of the board of directors on the objection is possible at the next delegates' meeting.

The organs of the association are the board of directors, the assembly of delegates and the general assembly of the university groups. Members of the board within the meaning of the BGB are: the chairman, the deputy chairmen, the treasurer and the secretary. The board is composed as follows:

College groups

The association is divided into university groups. It includes all association members of a university or a university department within the meaning of Art. 54, Paragraph 2, Clause 2 BayHSchG. The general assembly of the university group is the opinion-forming body for the members. It is usually convened by the group representative once per semester, but at least once a year, and is chaired by a group representative.
