Association of German Pfandbrief Banks
The Association of German Pfandbrief Banks (vdp) represents the interests of Pfandbrief banks in the Federal Republic of Germany . It has the legal form of a registered association .
tasks
The purpose of the association is:
- Safeguarding the rights and interests of Pfandbrief banks, including public relations work in the areas of capital market, state, real estate and ship financing, tax policy and legal structuring.
- Support and advice to the legislative bodies and authorities at national, European and international level in all matters relating to Pfandbrief banks.
- safeguarding the interests of the Pfandbrief banks vis-à-vis other national, European and international professional associations.
- Membership in national, European or international professional associations or participation in companies of any type of company, provided that membership or participation serves the purpose of the association or the members of the association.
The association represents more than 40 Pfandbrief banks and is a member of the following other associations and institutions:
- The German Banking Industry (DK)
- European Mortgage Association , Brussels
- International Union of Housing Finance , Chicago
- Federal Association for the Real Estate Industry Germany (BID), Berlin
- ZIA Central Real Estate Committee , Berlin
- German Association for Housing , Berlin
- Commercial Mortgage Securities Association (CMSA), New York
The association is a partner in vdpResearch GmbH (vdpResearch), vdpExpertise GmbH including vdpPfandbriefAkademie, vdpConsult AG and Hyp-Zert-Gesellschaft for the certification of real estate experts for mortgage lending assessments mbH (HypZert) based in Berlin and Hamburg.
Until July 2005, the association was called the Association of German Mortgage Banks (VDH) .

- Domestic real estate financing
- Cover assets
- EU representation in Brussels
The chief executive is Jens Tolckmitt. President of the vdp is Louis Hagen, Chairman of the Board of Management of Münchener Hypothekenbank , Munich.
