The Association of German-Language Writers in Israel ( Hebrew אֲגֻדַּת הַסּוֹפְרִים בַּשָּׂפָה הַגֶּרְמָנִית בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל Aguddat ha-Sōfrīm ba-Safah ha-germanīt be-Jisra'el , German 'Association of German Language Writers in Israel' ; Plene also: ...אגודת) was the amalgamation of a small group of immigrants in Israel , so-called Jeckes , who came from German-speaking areas and mostly had already been active as authors in their countries of origin.

history

On March 24, 1975 the journalist and writer Meir Marcell Faerber founded the association. Faerber, who was elected the first association president and held this post (with interruptions) until his death on August 18, 1993, explained the details of this in the foreword of the anthology Voices from Israel (Bleicher-Verlag, Gerlingen 1979). As early as 1979 he succeeded in joining the Hebrew and German umbrella organizations with his association. The positive progress made can clearly be seen from the 102 circulars he sent to his colleagues. He thus teaches about all activities and activities in association life.

Professor Margarita Pazi was the second association president until 1997. She died in Tel Aviv at the age of 77 . After her death, Josef Norbert Rudel took over the office until the dissolution of the association in March 2005. Norbert Rudel died on April 16, 2006.

Over the years the association has had 93 literary figures, including the six corresponding members and the honorary member, the publisher Heinz Bleicher .
