Josef Norbert Rudel (born October 26, 1921 in Chernivtsi , Bukovina , † April 16, 2006 in Petach Tikwa , Israel ) was an Israeli writer .

Life

After spending four years in labor camps and in the ghetto, he lived in Timisoara and Bucharest , where between 1950 and 1972 he published 36 books in Romanian under the pseudonym RADU NOR. In 1972 he immigrated to Israel .

Here he worked as a permanent employee of magazines, newspapers, radio, television and belonged to the Romanian Writers' Association, which he had co-founded. He was also a member of the Austrian Authors' Association (based in Vienna).

In the 64th circular of March 9, 1987, he was announced and welcomed as a new member of the Association of German-Language Writers in Israel (VdSI) with the number 64. After the death of Meir Marcell Faerber , the founder of the VdSI, Rudel took over the further publication and editor-in-chief of the German-language newspaper "The Voice" launched by Faerber. After the death of Margarita Pazi , who had acted as the second chairwoman of the VdSI, the office of the association chairman, which was to be awarded for the third time, was transferred to him as her successor.

During his lifetime, the association dissolved in March 2005 (on the day of its 30th anniversary).
