The Association for Gymnastics and Leisure (VTF) is a professional association for sports, health or fitness clubs, initiatives or organizations from the Hamburg region . It is also one of the 21 regional gymnastics associations of the German Gymnastics Federation . With over 109,000 members in 200 member clubs, it is the largest sports association in Hamburg for active athletes. In 2020 he is co-organizer of the first interdisciplinary sports, Medicine & Health Summit.

The topics covered by the VTF include fitness and health sports, children's gymnastics, dance and shows, nature sports and competitive sports in gymnastics disciplines and gymnastics games, including three Olympic sports. Member clubs

The VTF supports a variety of exercise offers for children in its member clubs and is in charge of all important events related to children's gymnastics . With the Hamburger Turnjugend (htj), the VTF focuses on “movement from the start”.

The VTF also organizes quality-tested health and fitness weekends under the brand VTF Active Program . The selection of programs ranges from current trends to proven fitness concepts. In addition to yoga, Pilates, Qigong, body shape, dance and hiking, the classic fitness weekend with a balanced movement cocktail of cardiovascular training, endurance, strength and relaxation is particularly in focus. The weekends with high-quality sports programs take place in comfortable hotels in the most beautiful holiday regions.

Another work area of ​​the VTF is qualification and club development. With the Gym Academy, the VTF offers training and further education and qualification for trainers and trainers as well as for clubs.

The VTF is responsible for three core Olympic sports. In the association's own performance base, athletes train for competitions on a national and international level. The basis for this is the systematic basic work in the clubs, which takes place in coordination with the performance center.

The VTF organizes sports events, e.g. B. the fireworks of gymnastics and the Hamburg-wide children's gymnastics Sunday (annually on the second weekend in November)
