The Hessian Gymnastics Association is the association with the largest number of members in the State Sports Association of Hesse and is based in Frankfurt am Main . The full-time managing director is Torsten Minninger, the president is Norbert Kartmann.

The HTV is the professional association for gymnastics in the state of Hesse . Its sporty range extends from performance- Artistic Gymnastics , Trampoline - and wheel gymnastics , gymnastics and orienteering , as well as wide athletic oriented gymnastics , gymnastics , aerobics , athletics , skiing , hiking , wheel gymnastics, and dance, to the turn games like Ring Tennis , Prellball , Fistball , Rope Skipping and Indiaca. He runs the Alsfeld gymnastics, performance and education center for training its members.

In addition to its sporting offer, the association also offers a music and minstrel department and operates the Hesse State Symphony Orchestra . Among other things, he is a member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Hessischer Musikverbände eV

The most successful gymnast of the association at national level and in international competitions is Fabian Hambüchen .

Events

Every four years the Hessian Gymnastics Association organizes the Hessian State Gymnastics Festival , with around 10,000 participants each, most recently in June 2019 in Bensheim and Heppenheim. For children and young people up to 14 years of age, the Hessian Turnjugend organizes the state children's gymnastics festival.

Youth work

The Hessian Turnjugend (HTJ) is the independent youth organization of the Hessian Turnverband. It has a total of almost 242,000 members up to the age of 27. Tamara Logemann and Annalena Mickel are honorary chairmen.

Awards

The Hessian Gymnastics Association honors people who have worked for many years in gymnastics in Hessen by awarding the Friedrich-Ludwig-Weidig plaque , which is named after the "Hessian gymnastics father" Friedrich Ludwig Weidig .
