Verdi quartet
The Verdi Quartet is a German string quartet . It was founded in 1985 in Cologne.
It received significant artistic impulses from the Amadeus Quartet , with which it studied, as well as from the Shostakovich Quartet and the Melos Quartet .
It has given concerts at major festivals such as the Schwetzinger Festival , Ludwigsburg Castle Festival , in Zermatt, at the Mozart Festival in Lille, France, and the Orlando Festival in Kerkrade, and also at the Oregon Bach Festival in Eugene, where the ensemble was quartet-in-residence .
Recordings on sound carriers have mainly been made by Hänssler Verlag and the cpo label . Since 2003, it has the artistic direction of the festival vielsaitig in Fussen.
