The station designed by Jean-Maurice Dubé was built using an open construction method , due to the presence of soft Utica slate , which made tunneling very difficult. This construction resulted in a very high and extremely spacious hall. Lively colors and decorations loosen up the wide areas. The distribution level spans the tracks in the form of a bridge. Windows in the ceiling let in the daylight. There are two entrance pavilions ; one is a free-standing glass-concrete building, the other is integrated into a row of houses.

The platform level with two side platforms is at a depth of 21.9 meters . The distances to the neighboring stations, measured from station end to station start, are 761.39 meters to Jolicoeur and 563.86 meters to De L'Église . There are connections to a bus line and a night bus line of the Société de transport de Montréal .

art

Reliefs by Antoine Lamarche and Claude Théberge run through the entire station. The sight of the upper part of the high and extensive concrete walls is enlivened by various geometric shapes. Red and purple stripes run across the lower part of the walls. The decorations brighten up the station and help keep it from feeling overwhelming.

history

The station opened on September 3, 1978, together with the Atwater - Angrignon section of the green line. Name giver is the Rue de Verdun. The name can be traced back to the late 17th century and goes back to Saverdun , the French home village of the local seigneur Zacharie Dupuis.
