Building

Entrance pavilion

The station designed by Claude Boucher was built using an open construction method . Stairs and escalators lead directly into the fully glazed entrance pavilion , so daylight falls unhindered onto the platforms. From the outside, the pavilion looks like a black monolith in the middle of a small green area. The modernist curtain wall forms a sharp contrast to the brightness inside, caused by the yellow corrugated metal ceiling. Powerful floodlights shine at night .

The platform level with two side platforms is 4.6 meters deep . The distances to the neighboring stations, measured from the end of the station to the start of the station, are 1,062.85 meters to Monk and 761.39 meters to Verdun . There are connections to two bus lines and a night bus line of the Société de transport de Montréal , plus a line of the CIT Roussillon. The Canal de l'Aqueduc is nearby .

art

The platform floors are decorated with 42 identical patterns made of ceramic tiles designed by the architect Claude Boucher. They are black circles with a diameter of 1.22 meters, each with orange triangles. Their bright colors serve to complement the station lighting.

history

The station opened on September 3, 1978, together with the Atwater - Angrignon section of the green line. Name giver is Rue Jolicoeur, named after the Roman Catholic pastor Joseph-Moïse Jolicœur, who founded the parish Notre-Dame du Perpétuel Secours in 1906.
