vdh eV is the largest association in Germany, which is dedicated to the care of the automotive cultural assets of the Mercedes-Benz brand and is recognized by the company as a brand club.
history
The vdh - formerly the association of Heckflossenfreunde eV / MB-Strich-Acht-IG - was founded in 1988 and currently has between 6500 and 7000 members, which makes it the largest association of Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts in Germany.
The vdh is headquartered in Ornbau (near Ansbach ) in Franconia , where the organization's main focus lies. The association is organized regionally in 44 round tables, located in various cities in Germany. In Ornbau itself, in addition to regional campaigns, the vdh holds its annual annual meeting every Pentecost weekend. In addition, an "autumn meeting" takes place every year , which is organized alternately by one of the regional meetings .
The "Benzheimer Flosskel" , which appears quarterly as a rule, contain a wide variety of information about the club, such as reports about trips and the annual meetings of the club. Furthermore, the topic of procurement of spare parts for club members finds considerable journalistic space in the club newspaper.

The focus of his activities with regard to exhibitions, trips and the procurement of spare parts are, among others, the " Heckflosse n-series" ( W 110 , W 111 and W 112 ), the series of the "old S-Class" ( W 108 and W 109 ), the "Stroke Eight" (short name "/ 8" , W 114 and W 115 ), the W 116 , W 123 series and the SL-Class series, the "Pagoda" ( W 113 ), the R 107 and since 2006 also the 190 "Babybenz" ( W 201 ).
