Association for further education and peace work
The association for further education and peace work is a founding of the citizens' initiative and peace movement and sponsor of two educational institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia , the educational forum Lernwelten with branches in Minden and Bonn and the educational institution InterKultur in Bonn. These educational establishments are officially recognized as adult education institutions in accordance with the NRW Further Education Act . As self-administered institutions for further education , they are members of the state working group for another further education in North Rhine-Westphalia (LAAW) and in the German Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband (DPWV).
The educational forum Lernwelten Minden
Since the beginning of 2016, “Bildungsforum Lernwelten” (BF) has been the new name of this institution, which has existed since 1976 as “Bildungswerk für Friedensarbeit” (BF). The BF originally had its focus on political training.
The new name "Bildungsforum Lernwelten" better expresses the current range of courses. This still has the goal of peaceful coexistence and respectful interaction between people and includes the following areas: In addition to lectures and information events, courses on: work and career, educational leave, health, movement and relaxation, personality (relationship and communication, meaning and spirituality, Self-expression and creativity), politics and society as well as parent and family education (pregnancy and childbirth, parent-child courses, parent courses, courses for children and adolescents).
The educational forum Lernwelten Bonn
For the same reasons as in Minden, the Bonn “Bildungswerk für Friedensarbeit (BF)”, which has also existed since 1976, was renamed “Bildungsforum Lernwelten (BF)” in 2016.
In its courses, the Bonn Education Forum Lernwelten would like to put the learners at the center of a holistic educational process in which great emphasis is placed on a communicative atmosphere, creative methods and the promotion of self-determined, social forms of behavior. The BF is a meeting place for and with people from different social, cultural and religious backgrounds. The focus is on the following areas: professional orientation and qualification, German as a foreign / second language, professional competence, migration advice , recognition and qualification advice within the framework of the IQ network ( integration through qualification ) as well as advice on vocational training. The BF is recognized by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees as a provider of integration courses.
The interKultur educational center in Bonn
The Bonn educational organization interKultur (IK) was also founded in 2008 with the Association for Further Education and Peace Work. It sees itself as a training partner for immigrant citizens and residents with a migration background (especially women) and for the state and local authority in the various fields of action of integration .
InterKultur offers a place of further education and encounters for and with people from different social, cultural and religious backgrounds. The range of courses that aims to impart social, personal, professional and intercultural skills includes the following areas: German courses, integration courses, literacy courses, language advice, discussion groups, advanced training for multipliers and encounters both on a European level (within the framework of Grundtvig learning partnerships ) and in texts (at intercultural writing workshops ). These offers are supported by the InterKultur forum, where lectures and interreligious and intercultural dialogues take place. In addition to its locations in Bad Godesberg and Tannenbusch, interKultur has had a third location in the Brotfabrik cultural center in the Beuel district since 2017. Here it offers courses and workshops in the fields of music, theater, dance and movement. The IK is recognized by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees as a provider of integration courses.
