The Verein zur Bergung Gefallen in Osteuropa eV (VBGO) has set itself the task of providing the millions of multinational war dead from the Second World War with a dignified burial and providing the bereaved with certainty about the fate of their relatives.

In over 100 (2008) search missions so far , over 6,830 (2008) missing persons of various nationalities have been found and recovered.

In addition to the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge , the VBGO is the largest association of its kind in Germany.

By working with volunteers from Russia, Poland, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine and the USA, the VBGO consciously and sustainably promotes understanding between peoples.
