Association of Austrian Investment Companies

The Association of Austrian Investment Companies (VÖIG) was founded on January 20, 1988 and is the umbrella association of Austrian management companies (VWGs) and real estate capital investment companies (Immo-KAGs).

The association, based in Vienna , Schubertring 9–11, represents 100% of the fund assets managed by Austrian VWGs and Immo-KAGs. Furthermore, since 2013 there has also been the option of extraordinary membership for European management companies.

The purpose and task of the association, which is organized under association law, is the promotion of the domestic investment sector and the support of its members.

VÖIG participates in the assessment of national and international (mainly European) regulations that affect the interests of members. It is in contact with ministries , authorities and the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKÖ) and maintains an exchange of information with national and international organizations and associations.

As a member of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA), VÖIG is represented with voting rights in various committees at European level.

Since the beginning of 2005, VÖIG has also been accepting information members who have access to an exclusive and timely information system. As of December 31, 2016, VÖIG had 38 information members. Dietmar Rupar acts as general secretary.

The association regularly publishes statistics on the Austrian investment fund market.

The data refer to the fund volume development of the VÖIG member companies and the breakdown of the volumes according to fund categories and target groups.

The performance of Austrian mutual funds is also evaluated.
