An association of old fraternities (VAB) is an association of no longer studying members (" old men ") of fraternities at their respective place of residence. Its primary task is to maintain the community and the values of the fraternity movement of 1815. For this purpose, meetings, lectures and excursions are organized on a regular basis.

VAB is available in many cities in Germany and Austria as well as in Pretoria (South Africa). Representative of all associations of old fraternity members is the Association of the Associations of Old Fraternity Members (VVAB) or its suburb.

All VAB meet for a joint conference that takes place at the same time as the Boys' Day in Eisenach.

Most of the members of the VAB are members of a fraternity that is organized in one of the fraternity corporation associations Deutsche Burschenschaft (DB) , Allgemeine Deutsche Burschenschaft (ADB) or Neue Deutsche Burschenschaft (NeueDB) . Only a minority of the old men of the various fraternities are members of a VAB.
