Association of Organizational Companies

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Associations of company-owned companies ( VOB ) were a special form of social property in the GDR. This included u. a. the party property in the GDR . Other social organizations such as the Kulturbund could also have their own organizations (OEB). When several of them were merged, VOB was created. So they were neither private property nor the property of the people (and therefore did not fall under the Trusteeship Act of June 17, 1990, but under Sections 20a and 20b of the Act on Parties and Other Political Associations of February 21, 1990, amended by Acts of June 31, 1990 May 1990 and July 22, 1990).

Around 90 percent of the means of production in the printing works of the GDR were owned by the SED - Holding Zentrag (Central Printing, Purchasing and Auditing Company), which was founded in October 1945, and later an association of companies owned by the organization - Zentrale Druckerei- undkaufgesellschaft mbH (VOB Zentrag), the was directly subordinate to the Central Committee of the SED. The other parties produced and published their press articles about the associations of the organization's own companies VOB Upward ( LDPD ), VOB National ( NDPD ) and VOB Union ( Ost-CDU ), which emerged from the Unions-Verwaltungs-Gesellschaft mbH founded in 1950 .

Herbert Schlehahn was director general of the Association of Organizational Companies (VOB) of the NDPD from 1956 to 1982 and later director of the Nation's publishing house. He died in 1994. - Werner Franke was the founder and longstanding General Director of VOB Union from February 1951 to January 1987. He was followed by Wolfgang Frommhold until 1990.
