Magnification (photography)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In photography, enlargement is both the process and the result of an optical enlargement .

The process of enlargement takes place in the darkroom or in an industrial photo laboratory ; a positive paper image is generated from the original with the aid of a magnifier . Either a negative or a slide can be used as a template , which is processed in the color reversal process or via an intermediate negative in the standard process.

The result of the optical enlargement is the paper image or the photographic print .
