The traffic pavilion in Bad Godesberg , a district of Bonn , is used by the Bad Godesberg City Marketing Association and has been a listed building since 2007. The pavilion with a basement located opposite the Bonn-Bad Godesberg train station at Ria-Maternus-Platz 1 was built in 1960 as part of a redesign of the station forecourt. Visitors arriving in Bad Godesberg had the opportunity to find out about offers of the health resort and its transport companies and to purchase tickets at the "Tourist Information", which was then housed in the pavilion. The city traffic office operated the pavilion at the time.

The pavilion was planned by the Godesberg municipal building department and its design is reminiscent of pavilions by the architect Mies van der Rohe (e.g. the Barcelona pavilion for the 1929 World Exhibition ), who designed in the Bauhaus style . The elegant and simple combination of reinforced concrete and glass creates the impression of lightness, openness and transparency; the construction stands for the connection between nature and architecture. In front of the pavilion there was a fountain that no longer exists today. After the "Touristik-Information" was discontinued in 1982 by the city of Bonn , into which Bad Godesberg was now incorporated, the property began to go into neglect. Initially used as a studio for artists, it became the archive for the German Foundation for Monument Protection in the 1990s . From around 2000 the pavilion stood empty for a few years, demolition was discussed.

Refurbishment work began in summer 2014 and was completed in spring 2015. The roof, facade (the entire glazing was replaced), cellar ceiling, heating and sanitary facilities were repaired or renewed, a barrier-free entrance was integrated; the costs borne by the city amounted to 330,000 euros. The existing patina of the copper surfaces of the cladding, window coverings and showcases has been preserved according to the order. The current user is Bad Godesberg Stadtmarketing e. V.
