Lothar Stuckart (born August 5, 1944 ) is a jazz and entertainment musician who has led a well-known big band in the GDR since the 1970s .
Life
Stuckart initially worked as a trumpeter . In the mid-1970s, he founded his own orchestra, which quickly became a fixture in the musical life of the GDR. The formation occurred nationwide; Concert tours took her to Romania, Bulgaria and also to the West. Stuckart performed with Gunther Emmerlich , Harald Juhnke and Dagmar Frederic . The orchestra made its name primarily as a live formation, but could also be seen on GDR television ( there is music in it ). In 1979 it was also involved in Walter Kubiczeck's recordings for the soundtrack of the television series The invisible visor in the record studio . In 1986 Stuckart was awarded the City of Erfurt's Culture Prize. In 1989, the orchestra played the premiere of Jens-Uwe Günther's Keeping Things Going with the Erfurt Philharmonic Orchestra .
After the fall of the Wall , Stuckart was no longer able to hold onto the 18-member big band, which was considered the busiest large formation in the GDR. As a trumpeter he was also in the studio with Joy Fleming .
His daughter Anna-Carolina Stuckart is an actress and singer in the funk-soul band Anna Partué .
